... will leave you exhausted and devastated. So don't! I've been there and made them all. Just recently again. So if you: 🌈... compare yourself to other creatives and their work, 🌈... stress about posting on social media just for the sake of posting, 🌈... lost inspiration and wait for it to come back, 🌈... or get all lost in worrying about numbers, ...let me share this with you! Comparing:
Better compare yourself to your own work. Where did you start and how far did you get? Where did you improve and where do you still need to practice? Don't compare yourself to others who have a completely different story.
Posting:
Content is king so posting mediocre content will just fall flat. It is a tough balance between consistently showing up on social media and at the same time offering quality when posting. Especially if creative work isn't your full-time job. Still, quality over quantity - always. Inspiration:
I stopped creating and waited for inspiration to come back. Believe me, it won't work just like that. Take action and inspiration will come to you. Numbers:
To be honest, numbers do matter. Sorry, for shuttering an illusion. But numbers can have many perspectives. The number of followers and likes is one way to see things but they don't necessarily say something about the engagement your work provokes or how many happy customers you have or simply how wonderful your community is. See this post of mine that did not do well in terms of likes or reach but I chose to focus on the number of heartwarming comments
because they show me that I am part of a wonderful community.
